Dentures are removable appliances that can replace missing teeth and help restore your smile. If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, whether from gum disease, tooth decay or injury, replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. That’s because dentures make it easier to eat and speak better than you could without teeth—things that people often take for granted.
When you lose all of your teeth, facial muscles can sag, making you look older. Dentures can help fill out the appearance of your face and profile. They can be made to closely resemble your natural teeth so that your appearance does not change much. Dentures may even improve the look of your smile.
This removable denture is made when you have some missing teeth and some remaining teeth in your mouth. We take impressions of your teeth and have our lab fabricate partial dentures made of either a metal framework or resin- based partial based on your needs. When we make the partial denture, we try to anticipate future concerns by designing the partial to be able to add teeth onto it if you lose other teeth in the future.
If you’re missing one or more teeth, you may notice a difference in chewing and speaking. Dental bridges can help restore your smile.
To decide whether or not you’re a good candidate for bridges, we will evaluate your overall dental health. We will approve you for the bridge procedure if no gum disease is present and your gums and teeth are in reasonably good health.
In creating dental bridges, we start by numbing your mouth in the area where the bridge will eventually be placed. We then prepare the teeth that will anchor the bridge so that the crowns will fit over them.
After preparing the teeth, We will take a mold of your mouth using a soft putty. Then we will send this mold off to a lab so that the bridge can be manufactured. We will fit you with a temporary bridge in the meantime to protect the exposed teeth and gums. When the permanent bridge is ready, you will return to our office, and we will remove the temporary bridge and set permanent bridge in place
